Cookies and Tracking
What this page covers
This page explains what the FWT Fan Zone stores in your browser, as cookies or browser storage (such as local storage and session storage). The cookie banner and settings on the main Freeride World Tour website do not apply to the Fan Zone.
Necessary storage
Sign-in. When you sign in, our authentication provider stores a session in your browser so you stay signed in. Without it, the member area cannot work.
Service operation. Short-lived session storage remembers things like whether you completed the welcome steps or whether a view was already counted in this visit. It is cleared when you close the tab or browser.
Preferences
Theme. Your light or dark choice is remembered in your browser (and in your profile for members).
Small interface choices. For example, a dismissed card, a notification setting on this device, or how often an optional profile question was shown.
Attribution
Coming Soon page. The Coming Soon page does not store campaign attribution in browser storage. Campaign tags from the current link are submitted with the form only when you pre-register. Technical server and security logs may be processed separately as described in the Privacy Notice.
Member signup. During the pre-registration phase, the public homepage does not store campaign tags in your browser either. On the signup page, when you arrive through a tagged link, the first source tag is remembered in your browser so we can attribute a later account signup to the right campaign. It never stores your email address.
Video
Videos are embedded from YouTube (using its privacy-enhanced domain where possible) or Vimeo. These providers may set their own cookies or storage when a player loads or you play a video. Their own privacy information applies.
Analytics and advertising measurement
The Fan Zone records activity events (such as a video viewed or a quiz completed) in its own database to run features and produce aggregate statistics. This first-party recording does not use third-party trackers.
We plan to add Google Analytics 4 (usage analytics) and the Meta Pixel (aggregate advertising measurement). Neither is active today: no Google or Meta tag loads on the Fan Zone and nothing is sent to them. If we enable them, each will load only after your separate consent, and Google Analytics will run with Consent Mode so that nothing is stored or sent before that choice. Consent to these trackers is never bundled with email news consent.
Your controls
When measurement is enabled, the Fan Zone shows a measurement choice where you can accept or reject analytics and advertising measurement separately, and reopen your choice at any time to change or withdraw it. You can also delete or block cookies and site storage in your browser settings; blocking necessary storage will stop sign-in from working.
